Public city records. Chicago's feed comes from the city's official Business Licenses dataset, published by the city itself. We pull it every day. Nothing is scraped from private sites and nothing is estimated.
Most licenses appear in your inbox within days of issuance. A few post late, and a few businesses open before their license posts. This is a feed for catching businesses in setup mode, in their first weeks, not a guarantee of reaching anyone before they open.
Purchased lists are resold to every broker in town, which is why new businesses stop answering. A license is the official record of a business forming. It is the earliest reliable signal that a business exists, and almost nobody is acting on it yet.
One email per new license: business name, DBA, address, license category, issue date, application date, and owner name. Filter the feed to the license categories you write, and export any day as CSV.
